Atomic Number 24

Durand Eastman Beach in January.
I love how most of the beach front was frozen except for this area. The sky was so blue it was beautifully reflected in the still water but I chose to go black and white with this picture to create an arctic atmosphere. The ice mounds in the background almost look like distant mountains.
Check out more ice shots at my flickr site.

Film Texture
Shooting on film is a lot of fun, it's a mystery what you're photo will turn out like. Recently I've been getting more into Lomography, a style of shooting that allows light leaks, unfocused subjects, and color splashes all in the name of art. I love the look of it, and decided to do some of my own experimenting.
I took an old Nikon camera and taped a piece of transparency paper onto the back frame to get added texture to each photograph. The results are very grainy and give an aged, faded, dark look to each photo. I really love the textured look! Check out more from this shoot, and another time I tried the same experiment on a macro lens.

Custom Fish Eye
Machining a custom made accessory to allow the Panansonic Fish Eye and Macro lens adapters fit my Lumix GH2 camera.
Panasonic adapters allow for great pictures without spending $700 on a new lens but of course the DMW-GMC1 and DMW-GFC1 adapters don't fit the normal lenses that come with the GH2. That is where my dad comes in to make miracles happen.

Check out his lathe set up to make a metal ring to
fit inside my lens and screw onto the adapters!

Neighborhood Sunset
I was biking my normal route around the neighborhood when I looked up and saw these amazing popcorn clouds.
I raced back for my camera and made it back just in time for the sunset!
This shot is composed from two separate exposures.

Flower City Worship
I recently had the privilege to help out with the Rochester Flower City Workcamp. Unlike most teens involved, instead of fixing up homes I followed teams around with a camera documenting the changes that were taking place. It was incredibly moving to see so many young people worshiping, praising God, and helping to better the community.

Letchworth State Park, NY
I love strolling through parks in my neighborhood, but recently I felt a little more adventurous and decided to stroll through Letchworth State Park. What a beautiful spot! It provided a great overlook of the gorge, and a magnificent waterfall that sprayed a mist as you walked by. It was a perfect day to enjoy the majestic surroundings of upstate New York.

5 Minute Experimental Film
2009
A poetic interpretation of the distortions our minds go through as we experience fear. Our dilemmas in life unite us but only through opening a window into oneself can we confront such issues as being left alone, or growing old.
